44. LORD KRISHNA AND LORD BALARAM LEARNS THE SIXTY FOUR ARTS
After relieving from the trap of Kamsa, Vasudeva and Devaki revealed reverence and affection towards Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram. On seeing their reverence and affection, Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram instantly transformed into small children. With Their internal energy, They transformed into small children. Lord Krishna with much love embraced both Vasudeva and Devaki and spoke as follows, "My dear mother and father, though I was born to you, you couldn't enjoy and cajole Us as your babies. We enjoyed Our childhood pastimes and glories with mother Yashoda and father Nanda Maharaja. They were so beloved to Us. As you couldn't experience that pleasure, we transformed into small babies!". Devaki and Vasudeva became so delight by the sweet words spoken by Krishna and embraced both of Them with love and care. Tears were shedding from their eyes constantly. After uttering with Their parents, Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram approached Ugrasena, Their grandfather and said, "My dear grandfather, you were imprisoned by Kamsa for so many years. Due to his death, you can be the ruler of Mathura and also you can become the head of small kingdoms like Yadu dynasty, Andhaka dynasty, Bhoja dynasty and Varshni dynasty. Because of the arrogance of Kamsa, the kings of these dynasty were disturbed". So, Lord Krishna told that Ugrasena would be the ruler of these dynasties to restore peace and happiness.
After hearing the death of Kamsa, the kings from various dynasties who were afraid of him, arrived Mathura. The inhabitants of Mathura lead a peaceful and joyous life without any disturbances. The people of Mathura got the opportunity to see the Lord face to face. They enjoyed Their every pastime activity. By seeing and thinking constantly about the Lord, one can become completely energize with good thoughts. Therefore, the inhabitants of Mathura were liberated from the six passions of life like egoism, lust, greed, hatred, anger and jealousy. Nanda Maharaja and Yashoda were also there with Krishna. Lord Krishna embraced them and said, "My beloved father and mother, though I was not born to you, you raised Us as your own sweet children. I know that you will definitely feel our pangs of separation. But, not to be worried! After satisfying Our real parents, we shall come back to Vrindavan". On hearing the sweet words uttered by Krishna, they embraced Krishna and Balaram and returned back to Vrindavan. Vasudeva and Devaki conducted sacred thread ceremony for both Krishna and Balaram. It was successfully carried out by Gargacharya. Vasudeva gave riches and cows in charity to the brahmins.
Both Krishna and Balaram reflected Their reverence to the Spiritual Master, Guru Sandhipani though They are the Supreme Personalities. They learnt sixty four arts and became versatile genius in that. The sixty four arts were learnt by Them in sixty four days. The arts mastered by Them are as follows, the art of singing, the art of playing musical instruments, the art of dancing, the art of acting, the art of painting, the art of painting face and body, the art of creating auspicious designs with rice and flower on the floor, the art of making a bed of flowers, the art of coloring one's teeth, limbs and cloths, the art of designing a floor with jewels, the art of covering a bed, the art of ringing waterpots, the art of splashing with water, the art of mixing colors, the art of preparing garlands, the art of setting helmet, the art of dressing neatly, the art of beautifying the earlobe, the art of applying aromatic compounds, the art of decorating with jewels, the art of performing magical feats, the art of jugglery, the art of sleight of hand, the art of preparing variety of palatable foodstuffs, the art of preparing intoxicated and delicious beverages, the art of needle work and weaving, the art of making puppet dolls using strings and wires, the art of solving crossword puzzles, the art of drawing pictographic literature, the art of architecture, the art of composing poems, the art of uttering answers for tedious questions, the art of reciting books, the art of study of soil, the art of enacting plays, the art of making bow with a strip of stick and cloth, the art of testing gold and silver, the art of studying herbal medicine, the art of engaging the rams and cocks for fighting, the art of training birds and animals to speak with human beings, the art of healing with oinments, the art of learning practical psychology, the art of hairdressing, the art of telling answers without seeing the book and the art of finding what is hidden in another's fist without actually seeing it, the art of speaking and understanding various languages, the art of making carriages and airplanes with flowers, the art of mastering mathematics and its permutations, the art of foretelling events by looking at a person, the art of composing verses, the art of building shrines, the art of cutting valuable stones like diamond, the art of playing dice, the knowledge of lexicometry and poetic meters, the art of playing with children's toys, the art of enforcing discipline through influencing mystic powers, the art of gaining triumph and the art of awakening one's master with music. Therefore, these sixty four arts were mastered by both Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram.
