43. THE DEATH OF KAMSA
After hearing the challenge of the wrestlers, Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram confronted the strong wrestlers, Chanura and Mushtika. The wrestling match commenced and the two Supreme Lords began to fight with the wrestlers by locking them one another. The inhabitants of Mathura could not resist the principle as both Krishna and Balaram were comparatively small boys. Lord Krishna confronted Chanura and Lord Balaram confronted mushtika. Though They were not equally matched to the wrestlers, They fought like a majestic elephant. The people present in the wrestling arena were dissatisfied with the cruel act of the wrestlers. They began to cheer Krishna and Balaram endlessly. One man said, "This is something injustice! Krishna and Balaram are innocent children when compared to the wrestlers. They might face danger because of these wicked wrestlers!. One said, "what benefit will they obtain by challenging the two small children for wrestling?". Another said, "But my dear friends, just look at the face of Krishna! It is full of sweat droplets that resembles a lotus flower!". Another said, "Look at the magnificent face of Lord Balaram! His face becomes pinkish red while fighting". One lady said, "The Gopis' of Vrindavan are the most fortunate as They had an opportunity to see, to play, to sing, to dance, to think of and to talk with the Lord. They used to have constant thoughts of the Lord while they churn butter, while milking the cows and while husking paddy". When the ladies of Mathura were so anxious on seeing Them fighting, Lord Krishna came to a conclusion to discontinue fighting with Them but to kill them instantly.
On the other hand, Yashoda, Maharaja Nanda, Mother Devaki and Father Vasudeva were also very anxious but they never knew the unlimited strength of the Supreme God. Lord Krishna struck the wrestler Chanura thrice with His fist. Chanura then tried to strike the chest of the Lord. But the Supreme Lord caught hold of his two hands and wheeled Him round and round like a hurricane and threw his body on the ground. Immediately Chanura died. Lord Balaram attacked the wrestler Mushtika with a great force and he began to vomit blood. He was also died. The wrestlers, Shala, Toshala and Kuta began to fight with the Two Lords. Lord Balaram confronted them and killed them in the same way. As soon as Krishna and Balaram killed the wrestlers, The cowherd boys hugged Them on their victory with unlimited joy. The people of Mathura praised both the Lords with great words. On seeing the triumph of the two Lords, Kamsa was enraged and ordered the soldiers, "Stop the drums beating immediately! Plunder all the riches from the cowherd boys! And arrest Vasudeva and Devaki right now!". On hearing that, Lord Krishna became furious and jumped high over kamsa's guards, attacked him. Kamsa hallucinated his death everywhere and he saw his cause of death in front of him. Lord Krishna immediately killed Kamsa by dragging his whole body and by pulling his long hair.
Although Kamsa was determined to kill Lord Krishna, the Lord gave him liberation to the Heaven, Vaikuntha planet. Because he was absorbed by the thoughts of Lord with a strong dislike. Whenever, he sleeps, eats, walks and talks he had the thought of nothing but Krishna. So, he entered into the highest planet by the causeless mercy of Lord Krishna. On seeing the death of Kamsa, the other maternal uncles of Krishna began to attack Them. Lord Balaram confronted them and killed them. The wives of them cried before their husbands and embraced their bodies. As Krishna was so affectionate to His aunts, He consoled them and conducted the ritualistic ceremonies for the death of His maternal uncles. After finishing those, Krishna and Balaram offered prayers to Their parents, Vasudeva and Devaki. Devaki and Vasudeva were exalted in the highest position due to the Lord's divine grace.
