SRI KRISHNA LEELAMRUTHAM (THE NECTARINE STORIES OF THE DEEDS OF LORD KRISHNA)

21. LORD KRISHNA'S ENCHANTING MUSIC OF THE FLUTE

It was an autumn season. Clouds looked clear as white color. It is a season in which we can experience the scorched sunlight in the day and pleasant air breeze in the night. The lotus flowers bloomed beautifully. Vrindavan trees were filled with ripened mangoes, black berries, bananas etc and the aroma from these fruits were indescribable. The creepers and branches resembled bending posture in order to please the supreme God. The water in the whirlpools were very clear. The magnificent peacocks were dancing all the time. The waterfalls in Govardhana hill were constantly pouring. Lord Krishna, Lord Balaram and the cowherd boys entered the beautiful forest of Vrindavan while playing the music of transcendental flute. The waves or the vibrations of the flute made the Gopis, the living and non - living creatures in Vrindavan become mad. Lord Krishna was dressed with golden yellow Pitambara with shinning necklace, crown, garlands and flowers in His body and behind the ear. While Lord Balaram was dressed up with blue and was looking so charming. They looked very attractive. Lord Krishna, the great musician as well. When Lord Krishna along with Lord Balaram and other friends crosses the forest, Their enchanting music of flute used to make the Gopis unconscious. Gopis had abundant love towards Krishna. They cannot live without Sri Krishna.

One Gopi said, " The flute must have done severe penance and thus it is being enjoyed by the nectarine lips of the adorable Lord! The flute holes are again and again kissed by Sri Krishna!". The cows and calves were always pleased to the Lord and whenever He call out them, they will spontaneously respond with overwhelming affection. The cows would embrace with Sri Krishna on His lotus feet and tears would come out of their eyes on hearing the mesmerizing music of the flute. One Gopi said, "See the love offered by cows and calves! They cry because of the unlimited love and affection towards the dearest God. The milk bags of the cows were fully filled due to the vibrations felt by them. The calves were struck with love while not drinking the milk from their mother cows. Look at their love my dear friends!".

One Gopi expressed, "O my dear friends! How is it Krishna and Balaram looking so pretty and charming?". Other Gopis said, " This Vrindavan is certainly a sacred shrine as the footprints from the lotus feet of Sri Krishna and Balaram are all over the place! We are the lucky champs to enjoy the pastimes with the two Demigods!". The birds would stun and sit on the tree tops and would forgot their presence while enjoying the flute music. This is called "Samadhi". One will attain Samadhi when he or she forgot the material body and realize the presence of God. On seeing the state of birds, one young Gopi told her mother, "My dear mother, the birds are very pleased and forgot their state of presence while hearing the flute music of Lord Muraari. The birds must be great Sages and devotees of Lord Krishna in their past lives! The peacocks went mad and immersed into divine ecstasy of Krishna consciousness!". The husbands of Gopis disliked the attitude of being enjoying with Lord Krishna. The Gopis knew nothing other than the name of Sri Krishna. The living entities would immerse in the state of ecstasy and the non - living entities like trees, flowers, waterfalls, etc would shiver with ecstasy. When Lord Krishna play His flute, the whole forest would turn as reddish as kunkuma powder. The clouds would spread forth as an umbrella to make friendship with the two Demigods. The kunkuma powder resulted from the lotus feet of Sri Krishna when playing the flute. When the aborigine girls crosses the forest and notice the kunkuma, they would immediately apply it on their face and hands and would rush up to reach the spot of Lord Krishna.

Therefore, the Gopis are regarded as the quintessence of Lord Krishna's die hard devotees. They neither enjoyed the air breeze nor the climate of autumn but enjoyed the presence of Lord by ruminating His pastime activities at all the time. Whenever a person is highly devoted to the supreme personality of Godhead, they experience their karma that are done in their previous lives. The soul gets purified. Because, Sri Bhagavan removes all dirty thoughts from their minds and establishes His consciousness and thereby control their senses. Thus, many people wish not to immerse in Bhakthi-Yoga as it doesn't gives pleasure and one will experience sorrow alone. But, it is not like that. Bhagavan purifies our soul when we dedicate and devote ourselves to Him. Therefore, one must think of Sri Krishna even at happy and sad events. It will make you strong by overcoming fear and establish unbeatable faith towards the supreme Lord which is the most important thing to be followed in spiritual path.
