SRI KRISHNA LEELAMRUTHAM (THE NECTARINE STORIES OF THE DEEDS OF LORD KRISHNA)

20. LORD KRISHNA EXTINGUISHING THE FOREST FIRE AGAIN

The demon Pralambasura died. It was a night time in Vrindavan. People in Vrindavan planned to take rest in the forest.  They went along with cows and calves. As it was a summer season, the forest was extremely dry and heat. When they were taking rest in the forest, there appeared a great wild fire and it encircled the people of vraja. The forest fire was highly threatening to the people. The fire broke out in all the directions. The inhabitants of Vrindavan on experiencing the warmth of fire, they began to cry with full of sorrow. They immediately surrendered themselves unto the lotus feet of Lord Muraari. They wept, "O Madhava! O Baladeva! please protect us from the wild forest fire. We can see You both as the two Demigods. We have none other than Your shelter! We are helpless!". On perceiving the words uttered by the people, the Lord was pleased. He was thinking how to save the people. Lord Krishna, in order to save His devotees, He opened His mouth and swallowed the entire forest fire.

The people of vraja were greatly stuck with the miraculous strength of the supreme God and thought that the Lord was not a human being but, must be a Demigod. After this incident, the people of Vrindavan began to speak the lilas of the supreme God as a topic of household. The inhabitants were undisturbed by the heat of summer. Vrindavan lakes were always filled with lotuses and was surrounded by fresh green grasses. The aroma from the flowers in the lake were just amazing. As soon as water in the lake moves in transverse waves and touched the people of Vrindavan, they would immediately feel chillness. It was possible only when the supreme Godhead descends from the spiritual sky in order to restore the righteousness.  Everyone in the world is a product or parcel of the Lord Who is the soul of this Universe. For the people who have  unbeatable faith over fear, love and truth towards the Lord, the Lord automatically control their senses. For impersonalists or people who doesn't believe in the existence of God in and around them, the above mentioned is contradicted. In this story, the souls of the inhabitants of Vrindavan loved Lord Krishna than anything else in the world. They used to have thoughts constantly on the Lord when engaged in a work or occupation. The people of Vrindavan often think of the supreme personality of  Godhead like how a lover used to think of their loved ones all the time (eating, sleeping, walking, etc). Sri Bhagavan during Kurukshetra said, "O my dearest Arjuna! You need not to leave everything in your life and surrender unto me. You have born to do your duty. I won't say anything which is impractical. Therefore, Arjuna, you perform your duty (fight in the battlefield). But whenever you are fighting, think of me all the time. The victory and fortune will always be there for you definitely".
