SRI KRISHNA LEELAMRUTHAM (THE NECTARINE STORIES OF THE DEEDS OF LORD KRISHNA)

 37. AKRURA ENTERS VRINDAVAN

Akrura as ordered by Kamsa, he started his journey to go Vrindavan. Though he was sent by Kamsa, who is envious to the Lord, Akrura was a great devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He got into a nice chariot and began his journey to Vrindavan. Kamsa was not informed that the two demons, Keshi and Vyomasura were killed. While Akrura was travelling, he began to praise the Lord, His beautiful activities, His glories and Pastimes. He was very willing to see the Lotus eyes of the Lord. He was totally absorbed in divine thoughts. Akrura thought that his sinful reactions would be vanquished just by seeing the Lord face to face. He considered himself to be more lucky as Kamsa gave an opportunity to see Him directly. He thought that great sages and yogic people always desire to see the Lord. He also continued that Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram were undoubtedly the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He thought himself to be more lucky soul to see the two Supreme Lords. Akrura uttered, "The Supreme Lord out of causeless mercy, have incarnated Himself and lives as a normal being in Vrindavan. The Demigods like Lord Siva and Lord Brahma worships the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord. I will be fortunate to see the two Supreme Gods! The forehead of them is marked with sandalwood pulp and their hands will be carrying the lotus flower. He is the most beautiful of the entire Universe and He advented Himself whenever the righteousness is unbalanced. The Lord is transcendental and certainly the inhabitants are also transcendental. Because they are the internal potencies of Him. The Supreme Lord is now born in Yadu dynasty. He who indwells in all our hearts and He is the Supreme master of all masters. The Goddess of fortune always accompanies Him. When I see the Lord, I will bow my head towards Him and so His beautiful hands can be placed on my head! I shall touch His lotus like feet and embrace it to remove from all kinds of sinful activities. The Lord reciprocates smile when I smile. The Supreme Lords will definitely accept me as Their devotee although I'm the chief of Kamsa. Lord Krishna resembles a desire tree to satisfy His devotees". In this way Akrura meditated on the Lord.

When Akrura reached Vrindavan, He saw the footprints of Lord Krishna, Lord Balaram and the cows. The footprints of the Lord contained a trident, a thunderbolt, a lotus and a flag. Akrura suddenly got down from the chariot and wept on seeing the footprints of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He was immersed in divine ecstasy. His body trembled out of great devotion. He began to smear the dust on the ground in his hands and face. He saw Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram tending the cows. Lord Krishna was wearing yellow dress with black complexion and Lord Balaram wearing blue dress with white complexion. The two Supreme Lords were extremely magnificent. He bow down his head towards Lord Krishna and touched the lotus feet of the Lord. He instantly experienced divine bliss. Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram on seeing Akrura, brought him to their home and welcomed him. They made Akrura to sit comfortably and gave water to drink. Akrura was given a wonderful reception and the two Lords offered him delicious dishes. After eating, Lord Balaram offered him betel nut and spices and embraced him. After the reception of Akrura, Nanda Maharaja asked, "O my dear Akrura! You are under Kamsa's protection who is a demoniac and a merciless king. He is so selfish by nature as he was about to kill his own sister. How can he protect the inhabitants of Mathura city? It is questionable to me". Akrura wanted to answer Nanda Maharaja.
