6. LORD KRISHNA AND THE DEMON TRINAVARTA
After the Lord's ceremony, one day mother Yashoda was patting her baby child. Suddenly, the divine child became too heavy like a great mountain for Mother Yashoda to lift Him. She couldn't bear His weight no longer. She was astonished in wonder that how come her child became so heavy like the Universe. So, She put her child down and thought of Lord Vishnu's lotus feet to surrender Herself. At the same time, Kamsa in Mathura ordered the demon "Trinavarta" to kill the Lord. The demon Trinavarta is a whirlwind demon. Due to the instigation of Kamsa, the demon reached Gokula in order to kill the Godhead. As soon as the demon Trinavarta reached Gokula, the whole land was encircled with dust storm and dense darkness. The people of vraja couldn't see even the nearest thing and themselves as bits of sand was thrown due to the whirlwind storm. The demon was eagerly waiting to kill the baby child when Mother Yashoda put Him down in the ground. Timely, the whirlwind demon took the child in a form of whirlwind and reached up to sky. The demon kidnapped the Lord and went high up to sky. Suddenly Mother Yashoda heard a terrible sound and searched for Her child. She was immersed in sorrow as She couldn't find Her child anywhere. Mother Yashoda couldn't find the trace of her child so she began to cry pitifully. On seeing her cry, Gopis gathered around her and began to cry for Lord Krishna as they loved Him more than their lives.
Lord Krishna became weightless like a little grass and the demon easily carried the Lord. It is said to be transcendental nature of the Lord Himself. Lord Krishna enjoyed the pastime with the demon fearlessly. The demon thought that he will kill the Lord simply. He said, "So You are the child in which Kamsa is searching for! See how effortlessly I kidnapped You from Your Mother! Now What will You do!". When the demon was holding the Lord and flying high, of a sudden, the Lord became heavier like a great rock. The demon Trinavarta couldn't go further. His speed was exponentially reduced when he was holding the Lord. The divine Child caught the neck of the demon so tightly. Due to this burden the demon tried to throw the Godhead. He was unable to separate the Lord from his body.
As the Lord gripped the demon's neck very tightly, he was unable to make even a little sound and became powerless. The eyeballs protruded from the socket and his throat was choked. His limbs were damaged and fell from the sky on a great stone below. the demon Trinavarta was like a stone himself and fell on a great stone! The divine child grasped the demon's body tightly and the demon died immediately on the great stone.
The Gopis and Gopas in the vraja saw the Godhead lying without any hurt or damage and was playing very happily on the chest of the dead demon. The Lord blissful and clapped His hands on the demon's broad chest. As soon as the Gopis saw baby Krishna, they restored Him to mother Yashoda. The people of Gokula were stuck with wonder and praised the power of the divine child. They also thought that they must have worshiped Lord Narayana in their past lives. Mother Yashoda was astonished and couldn't understand what was happened actually. Nanda Maharaja wondered and thanked the Supreme Lord. Speedily the Gopis palpated each part of the child whether there was a pain. At once the Lord smiled, everyone smiled at the Lord! Soon the Gopis exchanged the Lord and kissed Him with more love and affection. The Gopis said, "O Lord Narayana! With Your divine grace, the child has been protected!". Mother Yashoda offered Her prayers to the Supreme Lord. So, no mystic powers can defeat the supreme personality of the Godhead although they have learnt arts. The Lord descended to the Earth to destroy the evil and to save His pious devotees! Lord Krishna is the supreme controller of all controllers in the world. Thus, it is paramount important to gain Krishna consciousness in our lifetime as He is the supreme friend of everyone.
