2.BIRTH OF LORD KRISHNA
Taiteerya Upanishad says that there are five characteristics to represent the Supreme Personality of Godhead. They are Sathyathvam, Nyayathvam, Anantathvam, Aanandhathvam and Amalathvam. Sathyathvam refers to the nature that Lord is not a slave of karma. Nyayathvam refers to the nature that there is no expansion or contraction with respect to the Lord as He is omniscient. Anantathvam refers to the nature that God is endless. There is no time, limit or space with respect to God. Aanandhathvam refers to the nature that God is always blissful without any reason. Amalathvam refers to the nature that God is faultless. Of these five characteristics, Aanandhathvam is the paramount important characteristic of the God. The auspicious time of the Lord's birth came. It was a rainy season. Black clouds were all omnipresent in the sky. Behind those clouds, the Moon was present. The climate was cool. Both rain and air occurred at the same time. It happened because the Supreme Personality of Godhead matched the matchless(both air and rain). That atmospheric condition was mindboggling. Even people with sorrow were happy and they experienced some good fortune yet to happen. All sorrows were totally vanquished not only in one place but the whole Universe. All the elements in the world like the shining of stars in the sky, blossoming of lotus in the lake, gentle raining with air took place. Lord Krishna was born during midnight and there where darkness everywhere. The moon was gradually moving in an upward fashion. During that auspicious time, five planets were in an exalted position revealed the Supreme nature of the Lord. Lord Krishna appeared with a magnificent look (with four hands armed with conch, disc, mace and lotus) wearing marvelous Pitambara with all the ornaments in front of Devaki and Vasudeva.
Devaki and Vasudeva were Suthapar and Prishni in their previous life. They both offered their prayers to the Lord in order to get a child like Him. The Lord born as Vamana for Aditi and born as Krishna for Devaki and Vasudeva. He was looking so gorgeous with four arms, jewels, ornaments and 32 teeth were shinning like stars! When Lord took birth, all negative vibrations went off On seeing this wonderful appearance of the divine child, Devaki and Vasudeva praised the Lord with great devotion and also requested the God to repair as an ordinary child due to the fear towards Kamsa. The Lord agreed and transformed into a handsome divine baby and told them to take Him to Gokula and bring His Maya (divine female child) that is born to Yashoda. Due to the influence of the Lord's Maya, the soldiers who were guarding the place turned unconscious and were asleep. The whole Mathura was fallen asleep except Devaki, Vasudeva and King Kamsa. The restraints or chains around them were released and the locked door opened automatically. Lord is the breaker of Karma so breaking their restrains is not astonishable!
As per the Lord's order, Vasudeva carried Krishna from the jail and there was a heavy rain. He carried the Lord in a fruit basket to handover Him to Nanda Gopa, the Ruler of Gokula. Vasudeva worried about His child that it was raining heavily. So He was keep on altering his positions to protect the Lord. At that time, Ananta(Adhisesha), the great servitor of the Supreme Personality of the Godhead spread forth His covering in order to protect the Lord's body from rain. When Vasudeva reached river Yamuna, the river made way for him. To serve Ananta, Garuda spread forth His wings to protect Him. Therefore, it resembled a sandwich. In order to eliminate the darkness, Ananta exposed a gorgeous blaze that emitted from 2000 eyes of the 1000 hoods! This paved a way for Vasudeva to travel ahead.
Vasudeva reached Gokula and entered the house of Maharaj Nandagopa. Vasudeva saw all Gopis were fallen asleep who were taking care of cows. He placed Krishna near the bed of Yashoda and took the female baby who was crying so gently. Vasudeva furiously and reached Mathura.
He then returned back to the prison house in Mathura and placed the restraints on his legs. As soon as the soldiers turned into conscious state, they heard the crying sound of the baby. They ran and reported to Kamsa about the birth of the eighth child. Kamsa on hearing this, got up soon and entered the place. When Kamsa was trying to kill the female child, Devaki pleaded and cried not to kill this female child. The cruel Kamsa threatened Devaki and forcibly took the child from Devaki's hands like how a strong elephant harshly pluck a gentle lotus flower from the lake. When Kamsa was about to throw the female child on a stone, the child automatically escaped left from his hands like how a devotee of the Supreme Lord escapes from the clasp of Yamaraja. The child reached high up to sky and when it was on the sky, it was not the child but a gorgeous Goddess Yogamaya! She revealed an eight armed charming Goddess Yogamaya. She was holding eight weapons. Her voice was valorous and She was like a nectar! Her face resembled the chariot of king Manmadha.
The majestic Goddess Yogamaya uttered, "Hey folly Kamsa, do you think that you will kill Me! Listen to what I'm telling! your enemy, the eighth child of Devaki has already born!". Kamsa wondered with fear on hearing the Goddess's words and decided to speak about this to his counsellors.
Kamsa returned to his court and called upon his demoniac friends such as Putana, Bakasura, Pralambasura, Trinavarta, etc. The demons walked with fearlessness inspite of committing many mistakes. This is the nature of all demons. He called those demons whose job is to kill small children in village. Kamsa ordered them to kill small children nearby Mathura city. The demons and counsellors gave suggestions to Kamsa, "O Kamsa, by killing the cows, the truth, the self controlled behavior, the sages and the brahmins living without pleasure, it is equivalent to kill the parts of Mahavishnu". Therefore, Kamsa ordered his demons to destroy all places and to return to his place.
